Getting Your Story On the Page

Signing books at the Time To Fly: Chicago Book Tour Event!

Friends,

On the Time To Fly Book Tour summer 2024, I engaged in countless thought-provoking and inspiring conversations with friends and strangers. I asked, and was asked, a lot of questions–one of the most frequent being:

"Eileen, how did you write the book?"

”How does anyone even write a chapter of a book?”

There’s not a linear answer. And so many of you were also curious about Time To Fly’s behind-the-scenes backstory:

“What was the initial spark that gave you the realization and confidence to believe you had a story to share?”

“How did you find a trusted collaborator who ‘got YOU’ and YOUR voice?”

“What did the book writing process look like and how long did it take?”

The dialogue that grew around the this got me thinking about the creative synergism that pulled me to take the leap, expend the energy in the name of my family’s story, and find the bravery to put it out there.

Q&A at the Time To Fly: Chicago Book Tour Event

First, having been through the experience of starting to journal immediately following the death of Brian, to sitting in Mexico working through the final edits and finding new details still to add, to being with all of you, I realized I could provide some helpful insights.

What was even more exciting about the fact that I had done it–I had brought one of my life’s goals to fruition, despite challenges and doubt–was the fact that so many of you out there believe too, that —- YOU HAVE A STORY TO SHARE!

I felt it. I saw it. You expressed it in a multitude of ways: that same urge that nudged me: You are ready to take the leap; voice your story in a nurturing, sparkling, fun environment; and put it to the page.

So, here's the exciting news: My incredible co-author, Christine Fadden, and I have been scheming up something special for those of you who supported me on my book tour, and for anyone ready to start organizing and crafting their book in 2025.
